Today
I received some awful news; my beloved country has begun a Civil War. However,
I cannot say I am surprised. The Northern and Southern regions of the States
has had a lot of tension brewing lately. With the differing views on slavery,
differences between the North and South, and the South's desire for
self-governing it was only a matter of time before fighting started. I
believe the first fight took place at Fort Sumter in South Carolina. South
Carolina seems to be the most rebellious state in the South. Supposedly there were
not any casualties which mean that this war could be very short. The lack of
deaths shows that there is a lack of will to kill one’s fellow American. Hopefully
these disputes are taken care of and President Lincoln is able to resolve the
problem. Though there are problems that need addressing right now, there is no
need for a war.
