News has spread of Lincoln’s amazing address at the
dedication of the cemetery at Gettysburg. He stated that we need to continue to
fight for the ideas that these men died for. We need to make sure that these
men died for a good reason. We need to beat the South and make sure that all of
these differing views on slavery are resolved. Everyone in our country should
be free. That is what our country was created for! The land of the free and the
home of the brave. We cannot keep living in the United States like this, the
slaves need to be set free so we can truly be a nation of freedom. Too many
people have died to give up. Yes, we did win the battle at Gettysburg but over
20,000 men lost their lives and we need to make sure that these men did not die
for nothing.
